Mew Yawanawa

He is 38 years old, married to Kenewma, and together they have 6 daughters and 1 son. Mew comes from the Matrincha village and is an important leader of his people. He dedicates his work to protect and nourish the ancient traditions that he comes from, working with various medicinal plants and rituals, healing prayers, and is also a teacher of traditional sacred diets. He was the last student of pajé Tatá, with whom he completed the Muká diet for one year, and during this process he also studied with Uncle Luiz (pajé Nixiwaka), both of whom have passed away.

Mew also leads a project called Nii Vimi, through which he teaches about traditional plants within Yawanawá wisdom, preserving and passing on this ancestral knowledge.

According to Mew, when we truly understand the forest, it becomes possible to connect with it and feel the spirits of the plants, allowing for a deep relationship of learning and healing.

Yskunvasi

Accompanying him is his daughter, Yskunvasi Yawanawá, who has been dedicating herself to the spiritual path alongside her father, receiving the knowledge passed down through generations of their people.

She is also a singer and carries the traditional melodies of her community, with an enchanting voice that comes directly from the forest and embodies the strength of the feminine.

In addition, Yskunvasi is an artisan and creates paintings that express her culture and tradition , knowledge that has been passed down through time.
